How to use it
- Download the QFX (or OFX/QBO) file from your bank as usual.
- Drop it in above and check the list of fixed transactions.
- Download the fixed file and import it (in Quicken: File → File Import → Web Connect file).
Questions
- Why does Quicken skip some transactions?
- Quicken uses each transaction's FITID to recognise what it has already imported. When a bank gives two genuine transactions the same FITID (often two equal payments on the same day), Quicken treats the second as a duplicate and silently drops it.
- What exactly does this change?
- Only the repeated IDs. The first transaction keeps its ID and the others get -2, -3 and so on. Every other byte of the file stays the same, and fixing the same file twice gives the same IDs.
- I already imported the file and lost a transaction. Will re-importing the fixed file create duplicates?
- No. Transactions you already have keep their original IDs, so Quicken skips them; only the missing one has a new ID and gets imported.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and fixed in your browser, and the fixed copy is saved straight to your computer.
